Purpose: This fastpitch softball drill familiarize the pitcher with coming off the pitcher's mound after the windup to field a hunted or hit softball in front of the home-plate area

Procedure: Equipment required are A ball, a bat, gloves. Set up the drill with a pitcher, catcher, infielders, and bat¬ter .The pitcher throws the ball, and the batter bunts it toward third base. The pitcher fields the ball in what is scmetimes called "no man's land." Mo man's land is the area between the pitcher, the catcher, and the third baseman. Sometimes, when the ball is bunted into this area, it is too far from the catcher and third baseman for them to field it easily, so the pitcher has the best play.

These two things will be very helpful in helping you and your teammates bring out the best in you, so you can effectively perform the skills needed in these drills and be able to showcase them in the real battlefield. These two things are teamwork and hard work.

Softball is a team game. As you practice your softball drills, it is very important that all of you work as a team. And by the time you play softball in the real battlefield, it will be easier for you to win your ball game because every one in the team is making every effort to bring out his best skill.

In addition, hard work is also one of the most important things in softball. As you are on your practice for your softball drills, it is very important that all players are making their best effort, working really hard to bring out their best in every skill that is used in all the drills provided. When every player is working real hard, keeping his head on the game, it will be easier for him as well as for his teammates to master the skills that the coach want to impart on them with the help of these softball drills and it will also be easier for them to bring out this skill in the real ball game. With this, hard work will really play a big role as these players are practicing these drills so they can also carry it out in their game.

Beyond doubt, softball drills will surely help all softball players to hone all the skills that they need in softball.

Why Do Players need to be Physically Fit...

Softball has a lot of similarity to any other sports that there. It is because just like the others, this sport also requires its players to be physically fit. Being physically fit is certainly important to any kinds of sport because players who are fit are definitely a lot stronger because they have this great energy.

As much as possible, players must be fit because this will not keep them from doing of all the important tasks that they need to do in the game. As we all know, there are a lot of comp0licated tasks that the players need to do in softball. And all of these tasks and skills that one must execute in softball need the strength that a physically fit body can give. Those who are already experts in softball can prove that it is not really easy to execute different softball skills if the body of the one who is executing it is not fit enough.

Succeeding in softball will be more possible if you are not only determined to learn all of the skills and the techniques. You don’t only need to prepare your mind here. It is also a must for you to prepare your body as well. You have to see to it that you are also physically ready in doing all of the things that must be done in softball.

Some of the skills that need the strength of your body are softball pitching, hitting, and running. These skills can be so tough if you if your body is not that ready to do all of them. You must keep in mind that if you are not able to execute all of these things properly because of your weight issues and problems then this can just serve as a hindrance for you to reach the top that you have been aiming to reach for a long time now. Don’t let your body ruin all of your plans and dreams.

You need to be physically fit when you are already on the stage of doing all the necessary softball drills. It is a common knowledge that there are some drills that are so hard to do especially if the player’s body is not fit.

The player must have this body that is fit for an athlete if he wants to perform well during the softball drills and the actual games. If you are not that fit right now then you must not worry a lot because you can still do something about it.

Doing some exercises and doing them regularly can help a lot to trim down your weight. Aside from that, you also need to eat the right foods such as fruits and vegetables. These are easier to digest and they don’t have any fats or cholesterol yet they can also give you this amazing strength especially when you are doing your softball drills. You will surely see that doing these things is effective and after a few months you will be fit. When you are already fit, you will be surprised on its effect on the way you play.

Softball was invented and introduced to people a long time ago. From then on, this sport was already enjoyed and played by many. This is because from the very beginning, softball has already captured the interest of many. It seems to be a very unique and exciting sport and this made it different from the rest. Until now, many still opt to play this sport. As a matter of fact, ordinary people are not the only ones who are playing this; there are already thousands of professional players now all over the world who are playing this game.

This sport is said to be the favorite of people of all ages. From small children up to those who are already old still keep on playing this game. There are only few parents who do not dream that their child can be a professional softball player one day. Parents know that if they really want their child to be a professional player, they must already train them earlier. Training is absolutely important for a person or a kid to be good in this sport. There is a need for an aspiring player to learn different kinds of skills in softball and one among these skills is softball hitting.

Undoubtedly, softball hitting is the most significant skill in softball. No matter how complicated it is, all the players have no choice but to learn it because regardless of your position in the team there will come a time that you will experience to become a hitter. So if you are one of those who are really aiming to become a successful softball player then you must master the skill of hitting.

There are only few people who are born to be good in this skill. Not all of us are born with this kind of skill. Yet, even if you are not born with it, you can still achieve it if you will just dedicate some of your time practicing it. With months or years of hard work and training, for sure there is a possibility that you can already master this skill. What I am trying to say here is, if you really like to be good at this, you must act and do something about it.

It will not be enough if you will just go and memorize all the rules and the techniques because there is also a need for you to know how to utilize all of this. If you want to be excellent in softball hitting then you must try using the batting cages.

Batting cages is a place wherein you can practice the way you hit. This can help you a lot because you can execute here all the things that you know about hitting. If your team does not have a private batting cage then you can just rent one because there are a lot of batting cages out there that can be rented. You will just pay according to the number of hours that you used the batting cage. Those excellent batters that you are seeing right now have spent a lot of their time in batting cages. If you are determined to become a great hitter then start it by practicing on batting cages.

Softball Hitting Drills - Color Coded Hi...

Purpose: Improve hand-eye coordination and quicken reaction time in order to consistently hit a variety of pitches.

Procedure: Equipments that are required are Bats, softballs, pitching machine and L-screen, white and yellow dimpled balls and white, yellow and red tennis balls. As a warm up a pitcher flips a ball from each hand at the same time and instructs the batter to hit one of the two balls. For example, "High" for the high pitches, or Low for the low pitch. Another option is to use two different colored balls with the batter instructed to hit one or the other. Advanced hitters can hit at balls numbered from 1 to 3 with the goal of calling out the number on the ball before contact. For the main drill, gather up three different colored tennis balls: white, yellow and red. Set up a close range batting practice session or short toss drill from behind a screen. The batter should practice a different hit according to the color of the ball White means bunt (e.g. safe color). Yellow means curveball (e.g. caution), so the hitter should try and stay back and hit the ball the other way. Red means fastball (e.g. dead red) so sit back and rip! For further practice, perform a <a title="softball hitting drills" href=" http://www.softballperformance.com/softball-drills/category/hitting/" target="_blank">softball hitting drill with the pitching machine using white and yellow dimpled balls. Try hitting the white one and bunting the yellow, Or hit-and-run the white, and hit to the right side for the yellow. But stress the importance of picking the ball up as early as possible. These exercises work on improving hand-eye coordination through concentration from release to contact and the actual grip of the ball at the pitcher's "L" focus upon release. Remember: Hitters shouldn't guess. These drills develop instinct and train the hands to react quickly and efficiently.

Purpose: To teach the importance of squeezing the softball in the glove while running.

Procedure: In this softball practice drill we need one ball for each line of players, gloves. Divide the team into two (or more) even lines. The first player in each line holds one or two softballs in the glove. On the "go" command the first player in each line runs to a designated area, turns around, and runs backs to his line. After running the course the player hands the softball to the next person in line. Each person gets a chance to run with the softball. The first team to finish with the softball securely maintained in the last runner's glove wins the race. Squeezing the ball in their gloves ensures that player don't drop the ball in an intense game situation such as a rundown. Coaches may try two softballs per line, instead of just one, to speed up the drill. Runners must hand, not throw, the ball to the next person in line. Players can also run with the ball in their bare hands.
